CHICO, Calif. — It has been little more than a month since the Salvation Army was forced to close their thrift stores that help fund their Adult Rehabilitation Program in Chico. With little funding coming in to help support the program, they said they are desperate for donations.

The community's support has helped them sustain their treatment program that helps men and women suffering from drug and alcohol abuse and clothing and shelter for people in need.

The funding to keep it going comes completely from Northstate thrift store sales located at Salvation Army Thrift Stores in Chico, Redding, Oroville, Red Bluff, and Marysville.

The program is free of charge for the participants but it is not free for the Salvation Army. It costs $1,600 per month per person. Currently the program house 30 men and 20 women at a time at the facility. This year, they said their waitlist has tripled in demand and anticipate a greater need for treatment following this crisis.

The best way to support Chico ARP is through monetary donations. Mail donations to the Salvation Army Chico Adult Rehabilitation Program at 13404 Browns Valley Drive or online.
