Safe Families for Children-Arizona
Every parent no matter their circumstance, needs a community around them. Safe Families is a free service in the Valley for parents who need help and want to improve their situation. This program hosts children and creates extended family-like support for families in crisis, including those needing drug rehab.
Safe Families for Children is a prevention program that offers a secure and temporary home to thousands of children, minimizing the risk for abuse or neglect, and giving parents the time and tools they need to help their families thrive.
Safe Families for Children strives to meet three objectives:
- Child Welfare Deflection: Reducing the number of children entering the child welfare system
- Child Abuse Prevention: Providing a safe, temporary place for a parent to put their child without threat of losing custody
- Family Support and Stabilization: Many Safe Families volunteers become the extended family that a parent never had
The ultimate goal is to strengthen and support parents so they can become safe families for their own children
