There are plenty of options for teens that are using heroin and it is my hope that you will take advantage of these options.
Heroin is a very harmful drug and can be very dangerous for an addict. In addition to the dangers involved with the drug itself there are a lot of other side effects to think about. The negative side effects include, hallucinations, clumsiness, suicidal thoughts, sleeplessness, poor judgment, and thinking you are on speed when you are not. This is just a sample of the negative side effects of Heroin and none of these effects are pleasant.
There are some ways for teens to get the proper help to deal with their addiction. While being a teenager and having the opportunity to try heroin is not a “lifestyle choice” you will want to understand that you have the right to make the decision to use this drug. There are some organizations out there that provide these help groups to help teens deal with their addictions. In addition to the drug-help groups you will find counseling to help teens deal with their addictions.
In my humble opinion, as a society we need to have some sort of community accountability that will help teens to think of themselves and what they are doing and to keep them away from temptation. The city I live in has some excellent drug abuse recovery programs. There are resources out there for teenagers to get the proper help for their addictions and to keep them away from the “shopping mall to dealer” scenario.
