Suspected drug dealer accused of dealing pills that killed Pasco teen
PASCO, Wash. — A suspected drug dealer is now behind bars after allegedly selling pills that killed a 17-year-old in Pasco.
19-year-old Luis Fernando Martinez is in custody for suspicion of controlled substance homicide.
According to court documents, Martinez admitted to selling oxycodone pills to a teen. An autopsy shows there was fentanyl in the teens system that led to his death.
Court documents mention text messages and calls between Martinez and the minor who were allegedly talking about buying and selling drugs.
Martinez told police he was smoking with the minor at a park before being picked up and taken to his friend’s apartment where he sold him the pills.
Police say the teen overdosed on the pills one day before he was set to go to rehab for an opioid addiction.
Paramedics tried to give him CPR but said he was blue and rigid when they found him.
Martinez' bail is set at $50,000 and he is set to appear again in court next week.
